Nokia Lumia 1520

Nokia Lumia 1520 At last we now have a Lumia phone that is big enough to view office documents with ease. Specifications Windows Phone 8 OS with GDR 3 and Nokia Black Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2 GHz processor 2GB RAM and 16GB flash storage microSD card expansion capability 6 inch 1080p ClearBlack resolution display at 368 ppi 20 megapixel rear PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics 1.2 megapixel front facing camera 3,400 mAh non-removable battery 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Dimensions of 162.8 x 85.4 x 8.7 mm and 206 grams (7.27 ounces) Unfortunately for the US AT&T have been given exclusivity and have modified or stripped the device from 32GB to 16GB and no Qi (wireless charging). I have been using a Nokia Lumia 920 for just over a year now and all I thought I was missing was a bigger screen. Hardware 6 inch 1920 by 1080 ClearBlack IPS LCD display. Nokia\'s ClearBlack technology and there is no other device out there that can compete with it. The bezel on the 1520 is smaller that my Lumia 920 so that is a fantastic plus. 1.2 megapixel front facing camera. Three capacitive buttons (back, Start, and search). The 3.5mm headset jack is centered on the top, which I prefer. The microSD and nanoSIM card slots are inserted into removable card slots on the upper left. To the side are Two volume buttons, a power button, and a camera capture button. 20 megapixel camera which will match the Lumia 1020. 3,400 mAh battery (WOW!!) Nokia Black software is added, allowing you to close apps manually with an X button in the task switcher, an extra column of icons on the Start screen. Driving Mode added in the settings to manage communications while you are driving. Nokia apps include Nokia Camera, Nokia Creative Studio, Nokia MixRadio, Nokia Refocus, Nokia Screen Beamer, and Nokia Storyteller. Usage and experiences The Lumia 1520 is a stunning device. The camera performs amazingly and all of the great Nokia services are there for you to enjoy. The keyboard size could have been made smaller, or if you were given the option to decrease the size (hint) it takes up nearly half of the screen. The back of the Lumia 1520 feels wonderful. Pros and Cons Here are my pros and cons. Pros Gorgeous, high quality 6 inch 1080p display Amazingly fast performance The Best camera quality and functionality Great Nokia applications and services Powerful sounding rear speaker Cons Limited 12 GB available internal storage memory (international version is 32GB) Pricing and availability As stated AT&T have released the 16GB Lumia 1520 for just $100 with a 2-year contract. Off contract is $584.99. I will buy the international model with 32GB and Qi wireless charging. Colours available are red, black, white, and yellow. (I would have loved Cyan) Conclusion The Nokia Lumia 1520 has the best specifications of any Windows Phone device to date. The display is simply incredible, AT&T made a huge mistake in reducing the internal storage from 32GB to 16GB. If there was something I could add to the Nokia Lumia 1520 to make it perfect, then it will be a stylus pen to use with the office software that comes with the phone, now that will be a game changer, sort it out Microsoft.
