Galaxy Note 3

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the new flagship for Samsung. I have been using the Note 3 for four days now and I am very happy with its performance. So onto the review, starting with my good and bad points. Good Points Nice screen Android 4.3 MicroSD slot S-PEN Bad Points Lack of wireless charging (without extra cost) Lots of software additions Speaker is quiet USB 3.0 cable cost makes getting additional chargers costly Hardware Processor – LTE 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor Display – 5.7inch (144.3mm) Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) Memory – 32/ 64 GB User memory + microSD slot (up to 64GB) RAM – 3 GB OS – Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) Camera – Rear – 13 Mega-pixel BSI Sensor, Auto Focus camera with Smart Stabilization, LED Flash(High CRI), and Zero Shutter Lag Camera – Front – 2 Mega-pixel BSI sensor with Smart Stabilization, Full HD recording @30fps Connectivity – WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth® v 4.0, IR LED (Remote Control), MHL 2.0 Sensors – Gesture, Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope, RGB, Proximity, Barometer, Temperature & Humidity, Hall Sensor Battery – Standard battery, Li-ion 3,200 mAh Dimension – 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm, 168g The hardware is high end. Samsung have fixed the TouchWiz lag problem by adding more RAM to the device, the 3 GB of RAM installed in the Note 3 is a lot to have. 2.3 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon processor which is excellent. Qi Wireless charging is not on the Note 3. It is available as an accessory. Design The Note 3 looks like the S2, it’s less rounded in the corners and the silver strip around the bezel as well. At the back of the phone is the leather look backplate with fake stitching. The S-Pen is improved and will be really handy to the pros. However how many people really use it? Battery life 3200 mAh battery installed into the Note 3 which is removable :) Air command, Scrapbook, Touchwiz, Multi window all fab!! Camera The camera is a 13 megapixel which is really good. However I am sure Samsung can push the boat it bit further and install a higher pixel camera with extra perks on it (watch S5 coming soon), Conclusion The Note 3 is a really good device, a little costly. The S-PEN is premium. The list of what it can do is enormous. The Note 3 is no longer a huge phone, it just feels like a normal phone (to me that is). The Note 3 is way ahead of the competition on goodies added. Games and apps play with such ease. Well done Samsung. This phone will be perfect for the pros or wannabe pros :)
